Get to Know UNBW

UNBW (Unbreakable Women) is a community of women with a shared mission: partnering with individuals and organizations to support women through life’s hardest seasons—and celebrate their strongest comebacks.

We're not one of those feel-good, post-a-quote-and-ghost sisterhoods. We’re women of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and walks of life. Some show up in heels, others in hoodies. Some carry holy oil in their purse, and some are just trying not to cuss in traffic.

Different stories. Same strength.

What do we have in common?

We believe in God. We believe in purpose. And we believe in the power of sisterhood.

for women who know that lifting another woman up never lowers their own crown.

What It Feels Like to Belong At UNBW..

"It’s the friend who shares a cup of tea when you’re overwhelmed and listens without judgment. The celebration of every win. The nudge to get up and try again. The laughter, the tears, the hope —

but most of all… it’s the real."

UNBW was born in the middle of one of my breakdowns, or breakthroughs, depending on the lighting. I got tired of “pressing through” and hearing phrases like you’re enough. I was tired of churches that avoided conversations about trauma, tired of people who said they would pray, sent the praying hands emoji, and stopped there. I was tired of healing spaces that felt too… beige.

So my friends and I created something for women who were just as tired as we were ... a place where we could actually support one another through life. It started with just a few of us praying together and showing up when it mattered. We donated clothes and furniture to women in need. We helped connect women to job opportunities, and organized garage sales and small fundraisers to help families pay their bills.

Within a year, I was getting calls from women who had heard about what we were doing and wanted to build the same kind of community in their own circles. We decided to set a new standard for what support looked like ... not as an organization, but as friends helping friends.

Today, five years later, we are a network of more than 100 women and 30 nonprofit partners working together to carry forward my mother’s legacy.

The Strength of UNBW

Larrystine Williams

My mother was the embodiment of an Unbreakable Woman. She survived rape, domestic abuse, cancer, assault, and depression at a time when mental health was stigmatized and women were told to “be strong” instead of being supported. Even the systems meant to protect her failed her—yet she endured.

She carried generational trauma in a world where Black women were expected to suffer in silence. Misunderstood, misjudged, and sometimes hated simply for being who she was, she still refused bitterness. She never stopped believing. And even while carrying her own burdens, she showed up for others—offering strength, compassion, and encouragement to people who needed it most.

Even to her final breath, she held on to her faith, her dignity, and her courage. She is the blueprint for the strength and solidarity behind the sisterhood.
